Core Web Vitals aren't optional anymore: what UAE sites get wrong

TL;DR
Three mistakes show up in almost every UAE Core Web Vitals audit we run: unoptimised hero images, a 15+ plugin WordPress stack, and render-blocking third-party scripts loaded above the fold. All three are fixable without a full rebuild.
Mistake 1: unoptimised hero images
A 4MB hero JPEG served at full resolution to a mobile visitor on 4G is still the single most common cause of a failing Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) score we see. The fix is almost always the same: convert to AVIF/WebP with a JPEG fallback, serve responsive sizes via srcset, and never lazy-load the image that appears above the fold. That alone can cut LCP by more than half.
Mistake 2: the 15-plugin WordPress stack
Each additional plugin is a small, cumulative tax on page weight and Interaction to Next Paint (INP). We regularly find UAE WordPress sites running separate plugins for sliders, pop-ups, forms, SEO, caching, and analytics, several of which overlap or duplicate functionality. Auditing what's actually load-bearing and cutting the rest is usually worth more than any single "speed plugin" you could add on top.
Mistake 3: render-blocking third-party scripts
Chat widgets, marketing pixels, and A/B testing tools loaded synchronously in the <head> block the browser from rendering anything until they finish downloading and executing. Nearly every one of these can load asynchronously or be deferred until after first paint with no functional loss, but almost none do by default.
The fix doesn't require a rebuild
All three of these are fixable on an existing site without a platform migration. We run this exact checklist as the first pass on every web development engagement. Before any new feature work starts, the existing site has to pass its own performance budget.
